Founded in 1893 as a settlement house, The Lighthouse offers educational, recreational, and economic programs to families and individuals in Philadelphia. The communities of Kensington, Fairhill, and North Philadelphia have relied on The Lighthouse for more than 100 years to provide services that respond to their multidimensional needs. We work to increase the quality of life in these communities by helping members towards self-sufficiency and guiding the youth and children to become contributing members of society.
